Teo Lay Hua
is a highly skilled professional fine art creator graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, she is also a senior teacher in fine arts and the Chinese language who has accumulated with several decades of teaching experience.
In addition to her ability to paint exquisite Chinese paintings, watercolour and oil paintings depicting the fascinating beauty of nature, scenic landscapes etc., Teo Lay Hua, who has studied pottery art under Vincent Lim the famous potter, also possesses profound artistic skills and extraordinary talent in pottery creation and teaching. Surprisingly, at the time of her retirement, the school authority was very reluctant to release her, an unusual move was made to re-employ her as a teacher in pottery art, simply because of her special talent and comprehensive skill in art creations as well as her accumulated teaching experience.
Lay Hua is a live member of various art groups such as the Women Artists' Society, the Singapore Art Teachers' Association, the Society for Chinese Artists, the Singapore Art Society as well as NAFA Alumni Association.
Lay Hua has been actively participating in major exhibitions organized by accredited art groups and charity organizations locally and abroad since 1989. Her works of art are widely appreciated and collected by art lovers and serious collectors from all walks of life in various countries.
In 1998 Lay Hua was awarded with the National Day Service Medal by the President of Singapore.
In 2002, the Singapore Ministry of Education gladly awarded Teo Lay Hua with Long-term Education Service Certificate for dedication in her teaching career.
In 2019, Lay Hua was appointed as Panel Judge for Senior Citizens’ Art Exhibition “Elements In Unison” organized by the Sage Counselling Centre.
